Install Ubuntu desktop | Ubuntu

• Download image for Ubuntu 22 LTS (not 24): https://releases.ubuntu.com/22.04/?_gl=1*19ip6hm*_gcl_au*MTE4NTIyOTI0MS4xNzA3MTMxMDQx&_ga=2.235698565.54554979.1737472314-667276033.1735821211 (download the desktop image not the server image)
  • Note: the installation interface will look different than in the tutorial since 22 is an older version
• Use balenaEtcher as shown in the tutorial. Download here: https://etcher.balena.io/
• Choose to Erase Disk and install
• Use LVM with encryption (most likely found under Advanced Features)
  • set passkey

recommend to copy and paste passkey and password somewhere to save them

NOTE: it is very possible during the development of this project that you may need to erase everything and reinstall Ubuntu (e.g.: if OS crashes) so do not attempt to store any important notes/documents on the system. Recommended to just dump all information into Notion.
